About PI & Lab
Principal Investigator: Dr. Haoran You is an incoming Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Purdue University and is currently a Research Scientist at Adobe. He received his Ph.D. from Georgia Tech. His research focuses on building efficient AI/ML systems through algorithm-hardware co-design, addressing the growing complexity of AI/ML models (such as LLMs and LVMs) against the resource constraints of edge and cloud devices.
His research has received notable recognition, including the Gold Medal at ACM Student Research Competition at ICCAD 2023, IEEE Micro's Top Pick of 2023, Machine Learning and Systems Rising Stars of 2023, Meta Faculty Research Award 2022, Best Poster Award at the Georgia Tech School of Computer Science Poster Competition, and First Place in University Best Demonstration at Design Automation Conference 2022.
EcoAI Lab: We name our lab "EcoAI" to emphasize our commitment to addressing AI system Efficiency challenges through an interdisciplinary approach that bridges algorithms and hardware via co-design. Our mission is to develop efficient and eco-friendly AI systems that can be deployed across a wide spectrum of computing platforms, ranging from resource-constrained edge devices to large-scale cloud infrastructures. We address fundamental challenges in making advanced AI accessible, sustainable, and practical by advancing principled model compression, hardware-aware optimization, and computer architecture design methodologies.
